Sossusvlei, in Namibia’s Namib-Naukluft National Park, is famed for its towering red sand dunes, some of the highest in the world. This surreal desert landscape features salt pans, camel thorn trees, and striking contrasts of light and shadow, especially at sunrise. Set in Namibia’s rugged Damaraland, Palmwag is a remote oasis of palm-lined springs and desert-adapted wildlife. Known for its conservation efforts, it’s home to black rhinos, elephants, and free-roaming predators. Surrounded by volcanic mountains and arid wilderness, Palmwag offers a unique blend of stark beauty, rare species, and a deep sense of wild, untouched Namibia.

Desert Rhino Camp lies in the midst of the enormous Palmwag Concession, where trackers patrol and protect one of the largest free-ranging populations of the Endangered desert-adapted rhino in Africa. The camp consists of only 8 meru style tents overlooking an expansive pan dotted with welwitschia, Namibia’s national plant.
