- According to certain rates and travel periods, a minimum of two nights per stay may be required, which can be confirmed at the time of booking.
- In keeping with the reserve’s conservation ethos and commitment to guest safety and privacy, pets are not permitted within the reserve, nor is the use of drone aircraft.
- As the lodge is secured by an electric perimeter fence, guests are kindly asked to follow the guidance of experienced rangers and staff at all times when moving about the property.
- Walking safaris are subject to health and age considerations, therefore pregnant guests will be unable to take part in these activities, and guests over the age of 65 may be required to provide medical clearance.
- When prepping for your safari, lightweight clothing is generally best for warmer months, while warm layers are advised for cooler winter evenings when temperatures can drop as low as 7°C. Comfortable walking shoes and swimwear are also recommended.
How do I reach the lodge by car, and what is the distance from the nearest airport?
The Shamwari Sindile Lodge is located approximately 61km (38 miles) from Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport in Gqeberha, and around 7km (4.5 miles) from the town of Paterson.
Guests travelling by car from Gqeberha will follow the N2 toward Grahamstown, then turn onto the R342 toward Paterson, and finally continue along a 7km gravel road to reach the Welcome Lounge at the reserve’s second gate.
